"E-Publishing and Self-Publishing: Expanding Options for The Future"

Rural Edgerton’s Devine has spent his working life helping high-tech firms explain themselves as a technical writer. Now, he’s written some “user manuals” for the beginning businessperson, “Building Your Business Plan” and “Building Your Business.” For a quarter of a century, Devine created hardware and software manuals for businesses, as well as worked for a small, tech-writing business. He holds a Masters degree in adult education from the University of Wisconsin and has worked for a non-profit agency in Madison. His book, “Building Your Business Plan,” was awarded a best of show award at the Chicago chapter of the Society for Technical Communications in 2005. He works as the documentation manager at a small software company and lives in rural Edgerton with his wife.

At this year's book fest, Devine will present a workshop on elecronic and self publishing. He writes: "Changes in technology over the past few years has revolutionized how authors can communicate with audiences. Suddenly, you don't need to be an A-list author anymore to reach a large audience. In my workshop, I'll discuss the worlds of self-publishing, e-publishing, on-demand publishing, and traditional publishing. You'll learn how to publish your own work, and some of your options for doing that."
