"Hanging by a Thread"

A freelance photographer from Madison who loves to fly kites, Wilson has taken aerial pictures of France, Germany, England, Japan, South Africa, Belgium, Holland, Canada, and America that even an eagle might envy. His cameras are attached to high-flying kites, with the shutters snapped by remote control. His book “Hanging By A Thread” gives Wilson’s fans a bird’s-eye view of the Badger state. Wilson, a kite-flyer since 1983, has had his images published in magazines and books. His pictures have also been used in advertising campaigns. Photos in “Hanging By A Thread” were taken while Wilson’s kite-borne camera was fifty to two hundred feet above the ground. The images allow viewers to “zoom over” the tops of places like the Madison capitol dome, as well as get a brand new perspective of visitors at Badger state festivals, sailors on Great Lakes ships, and attendees at a UW-Madison football game. Wilson lives in Madison with his wife, two children, and his dog.
